ABOUT LAURA ZAJACZ
Laura is a Toronto based artist whose punk-influenced style is rooted in the Lowbrow art movement. Her practice spans comics, drawing, painting, and game-making. After 15 years as an award-winning Creative Director and Art Director at major video game studios like EA and Capcom, Laura is now focusing on her passion for graphic storytelling. Having spent two decades experimenting in traditional weekly strips, interactive comics, and webcomics, her first self-published comic, Totally, which follows two teenage girls growing up punk and queer in the ’00s, is being released in January 2026. Laura has spoken by invitation on panels for Facebook, Google, and the International Game Developers Association, and her art has been commissioned by Netflix, the city of Hamilton, and legendary poster artist Brian Ewing, among others. She has shown work in Toronto, Orlando, and Portland and has contributed to text books used in the Ontario art curriculum. Laura holds a B.A. in Fine Art & Multimedia from McMaster University (2008), a B.Ed. from the University of Toronto (OISE, 2010), and has taught Game Design at OCAD University.
